The Office of Special Investigations

(OSI) obtains accurate and reliable information about alleged fraud, waste and misuse of public funds. OSI employs investigators and auditors who gather information through traditional investigative procedures or through special audits.    

OSI assists other bureaus within the department by conducting background investigations and counseling on all fraud-related issues.

The results of OSI’s investigations and special audits are referred to appropriate law enforcement agencies for criminal investigation and/or prosecution. The results may also be referred to government agencies and to other bureaus within the department.
